Rep. Rob Kreibich Recognized as a WEDA Champion of Economic Development
The Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) recently presented state Rep. Rob Kreibich
(R-New Richmond) with its Champion of Economic Development Award for his leadership during the 2025-26 Wisconsin Legislative Session on key legislation to boost economic growth. His efforts at the State Capitol will help promote local housing development, strengthen Wisconsin’s workforce, and drive community revitalization across the state.
“Recognizing Rep. Kreibich with the WEDA Champion of Economic Development Award was a simple decision. His work on key policies to encourage economic growth in Wisconsin speaks for itself, and we are excited to thank him,” said Michael Welsh, WEDA V.P. of Legislative Affairs. “The legislation he championed during the 2025-26 session will have a real impact in Wisconsin. His work will provide communities in the 28th Assembly District and across the state with new policy tools to address challenging workforce issues, including housing and childcare access, and provide opportunities for growth and prosperity for families and businesses.”
Kreibich earned WEDA’s Champion of Economic Development Award for his efforts to address the state’s biggest economic challenges and provide communities with the tools to drive local economic activity. His work on critical legislative proposals included the creation of a new childcare tax credit, the improvement of local financing tools for residential infrastructure and housing development, and key incentives for main street revitalization and community development.
“Housing was among the top issues this past session, and we made significant bipartisan progress on this issue,” said Rep. Kreibich. “I appreciate being recognized for my efforts to improve the supply of homes in this state.”
Rep. Kreibich, who was re-elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 2024 after serving in the Assembly from 1992 to 2006, chairs the Assembly Commerce Committee and serves on several other key committees, including the Assembly Housing and Real Estate Committee. He represents the 28th Assembly District, which covers portions of St. Croix, Dunn, and Pierce Counties, and includes the cities of New Richmond and Glenwood City.
