Energizing the Future: Exploring Key Trends in Energy

Academy training presented by Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA).

This Academy will feature a lively panel discussion that will delve into the dynamic world of energy. Utility availability and rates play a significant role in a community’s ability to attract, expand and retain business. The 2022 Business Development Magazine survey identified the corporate site selectors and industry CEO’s rank utility availability and affordability as a top five criteria in selecting a location for their project. Attendees will get a basic understanding of the utility industries and how utilities work in general. They will better understand the role utilities play in economic development and their importance in being able to accommodate an expansion/ attraction project. Attendees will also learn about the issues/ difficulties utilities are currently facing and their electrification plans for electric vehicles in communities.

The seminar will include information on future energy generation utilizing renewable resources like wind and solar and other, electric vehicle charging, and unique roles a utility can play in economic development. Session attendees should generate valuable information to take back to their teams and communities.
